I am a San Francisco Photographer specializing in Portrait, Event, and Custom Corporate photography services. I also document my neighborhood, The Sunset, and welcome inquiries from folks living or working in the outside lands!
I first fell in love with photography in the days of film and darkrooms when I was in high school, and it carried over to college where I spent most days absorbing chemicals in soothing red light and eagerly waiting for images to appear.
I got my BFA at the University of Iowa (Iowa City, the Writers’ Workshop place, I also minored in English) and then moved to San Francisco and segued into a design career. I have professional experience in marketing and web design, having worked in-house as a marketing and communications designer for six+ years, and on my own as a freelance web designer and design contractor for five+ years. As a photography-minded designer, I have been disappointed by stock images and I have worked with clients to produce portraits and custom imagery. Along the way I decided I would rather make quality images than look for them. When a full-time job abruptly ended in 2016, I picked up DSLR camera and started having fun with photography again, and now it’s all I want to do.
Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark III.
Lenses: 85mm 1.2L, 135mm 2L, 50mm 1.4, 24mm 1.4L, 24-105mm 4L, 16-35mm 4L
Other hats I’ve worn include yoga teacher, musician, office manager at The Onion, event admin for The Stanford Jazz Workshop, and program assistant for Photography, Film, Design, and Wine Studies at UC Berkeley Extension.
I’m also a writer, zine editor, cat mom, and radio show host at BFF.fm. I live with my husband in the Sunset. After 10+ years of living in the Mission, I greatly enjoy quieter living a few blocks from Ocean Beach.
